What is the significance of the Tafreshi case that you keep hearing about? In this video, we discuss how the group of 110 applicants were able to gather evidence to demonstrate that their refusals were a result of a calculated decision by the Minister and his agents to deprive the applicants of their rights to procedural fairness. Watch the video now to learn why this case is significant for anyone applying for a visa and how group litigation can be an effective tool to challenge problematic and increasingly automated decisions. ... Great news for eligible Iranian nationals in Canada! The Government of Canada has introduced new facilitative measures allowing individuals to apply for extensions of their temporary resident status, open work permits, and study permits - all at no cost. In addition, Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Iran can also apply for limited-validity Canadian passports, citizenship certificates, and permanent resident travel documents. In the ongoing saga of the 110 applicants seeking a just assessment of their Self-Employed applications, we are delighted to report having put a stop to ongoing games by Canadian Immigration and Citizenship regarding the required documents on reassessment. The Court has confirmed that business plans and detailed evidence of past work experience are not required, a position we tried to obtain from Sean Fraser for the last 7 months and kept getting the runaround. The Court has, again, ordered costs against the Minister for causing the applicants to have to return to Court.#immigration #ircc #iran #IranPr #PRapplication #selfemployed #fairnessToronto Star National Post CBC News CP24 Toronto's Breaking News ... We are excited to announce that our case Tafreshi v. M.C.I has been selected as one of the top 10 most important Federal Court cases of 2021-2022 at the 30th annual Immigration Summit of the Law Society of Ontario. In the “Top 10 cases of 2021-2022” panel, presenters were selecting cases that had the most impact and relevance to immigration practitioners, whether negatively or positively. They canvassed all TRV, study permit, work permit, and economic class permanent resident applications before the Court for candidates, and selected Tafreshi v. M.C.I. as one of the 10 most important cases of the year. This case is important for demonstrating that group litigations may be the future of immigration litigation as, through a group, you can demonstrate circumstances that you cannot in a single application; while several self-employed applicants seeking the review of the exact same refusals by Warsaw were unsuccessful when they approached the Court on their own, the group of 110 applicants were able to demonstrate the systemic problem that existed with the assessment process by the Warsaw visa post.#lawsocietyofontario #immigrationlawyer #canadaimmigration #immigrationcanada #immigrantstories #مهاجرت ...
